The 9 Dragons Ultra (HKG)

Introduction

Legend goes that Kowloon was named in the year 1278 by the boy Emperor Bing, of the Southern Song Dynasty. Noticing the eight hills of Kowloon (Kowloon Peak, Tung Shan, Tate's Cairn, Temple Hill, Unicorn Ridge, Lion Rock, Beacon Hill, Crow's Nest), the emperor was pleased to name them the “Eight Dragons”—but a quick-witted courtier pointed out that the emperor was a dragon himself, making it nine dragons.

The 9 Dragons Ultra enters its 5th edition in 2025 with a growing reputation as one of Hong Kong’s most challenging trail events. The 50/50 stage race is unique in the territory - and in Asia Trail Master - and is considered ultra tough. Important to note is that the 50/50 category and the 50km category will offer points for the ATM Championship ranking. The single 50 miles will only provide a Grandmaster Quest point to finishers . The 50/50 for ultra endurance runners, the 50k for the fast legs among the trail crowd!
